Results: Monterey Getaway, Sept. 2-3
Another nice weekend in Monterey. This time we tried Labor Day weekend. It was a little
crowded in town with the First Tee/Champions Tour and a little on the cool side, but
overall very pleasant on the course. Poppy was slowed by the groups in front of us and,
as expected, did the most damage with only three pairings beating 7 under net. The
sound of tree knocks echo'd across the fairways. Ten teams bested 7 under net at Pacific
Grove and everyone had a nice time gathering in the new club house built this last year.
They tore down the old one and now have a much nicer look around the parking area.
The format was blind bogie which paired two-person teams randomly selected by
computer after each day. Course par: Poppy Hills 72, Pacific Grove 70
