Golf Club at Fremont -- People entered in next away event

Hopefully, everyone had fun at our final 2006
event. It sure looked like those that waited for the
final prize raffle of the year did as everyone walked
away with something.
Days before the official start of winter but the
weather had definitely gotten here weeks earlier.
A very cold front came through Northern Cal and
the threat of rain had some worried about this
Saturday. Those braving shorts felt the icy chill of
the breeze knifing through windowless carts. But,
all-in-all it was a good day for golf. The pro shop
worried about frost, but still let us off on time. The
air was cold but had little breeze and no moisture.
Later in the evening, rain and hail swept through
the South Bay just missing our event.
Once again we played with a two-person Best Ball
team format. This time you didn't know your
partner until the computer spat out the pairings.
That blind draw format was great for some and
tough on those who didn't compliment each others
best holes. We had plenty attending (enough to
form three flights) and once again the format
produced very close scores, the top 10 within 4
strokes. The best ham'n'egg going to C flight
winners Lama and Desai who individually shot a
net 67 and 94! Kevin Blakeman's best overall net
score on the day, a 65, finished 4th in the C flight.
