Results: Poppy Hills, August 23, 2009
Well, Poppy Hills was kind enough to warn about punched greens and fairways
earlier this year. And, the rescheduling couldn't have been a nicer day. just cool
enough to be comfortable, calm enough to keep everyone driving straight, and
quiet enough to hear the knocks off the trees if you didn't. A few knocks were
certainly heard. But having a blind draw at the end gave everyone a chance to
get a partner who had good holes where you didn't. Some ham-n-egged to an
incredible 16 under par (net of course) while others blew up on the same
holes. That's the fun of blind draw.
Interestingly, more than half the field finished within 4 stokes and no one
finished over par. Congrats to Bill and Derrick, Paul and Andrea for hitting the
right combinations on a strong course.
