Results: Fremont Park, Sat. Oct. 14
The 2006 Fremont Park Golf Club Championship.
This was a really close one. Scott Terry tied Rich Hodges after 18 holes at
home, then took home a fourth Club Championship on the first playoff hole. A
strong group of six competed from the blues without handicaps. Rich made 4
birdies on the back to tie Scott at 1 under with the chance to continue to a
third shot at hole 1.
Taylor Travis with a strong back nine finished third in the scratch flight at 2
over par and also secured the Junior Club Champion title.
Many low scores were shot in the Net flight from the white tees where many
short par 4s now played as long par 3s. Greg Burke beat Dave Minter by one
for the Men's Net title with a very strong 52. Scott and Greg have both been
playing well of late, having recently taken second place as a team in the
two-person annual NCGA Four-Ball Finals. Ginny Lemert saw little competition
(literally) and finished nicely under par on her way to another Women's title.
The weather was with us on this fine October morning. Calm winds and very
mind temps. October has really been great.
