Everyone won! Not only did we have the normal raffle following the awards
ceremony, but we secured a bunch of Nike sleeves from the day's demo
(thanks, Dave) and everyone walked away with something. And, it was nice to
hang at the course after for pizza and beverages.
Following Friday the 13th, a week of really hot weather and fires in the hills,
everyone at the course this Saturday seemed relaxed and ready to play. A light
haze (and even smoke) cooled the morning. But, the course cleared up and in
a few hours was a really comfortable day. The greens were in great shape. The
rough was tailored toward Open conditions to match the weekend TV event. It
saved some balls from going out but made chipping a little tougher. Ten under
seemed to be the magic number as 4 teams hit that mark to place, with one
other at 12 under.
